Lost cash ... found!
My wife saw something about our State Treasurer offering cash that might belong to us.
I followed the link (https://icash.illinoistreasurer.gov) and saw that there were three chunks of unclaimed money that might be mine.
It took just a few minutes to fill out one form to claim all three.
One day later I was informed that all three claims were successful and I’d be getting money I didn't know I had, in 5-10 business days. Sweet!
The total isn't huge (under 3 figures) but it's mine and on its way.
It might be worth checking your state’s Department of Treasury to see if you’ve got money that would be lost forever without making a claim.

[UPDATE 12/4/24: Received a check in the mail today with the total amount due, sent by my State Treasurer just 7 days after submitting my claim - and there was a holiday weekend in between. It’s nice to get money in the mail…]
